Marvin Window Replacement: The Pembroke Pines Owner’s Guide

If your Marvin window has a failed sash, fogged glass, or a balancer that gave out, we stock the replacement parts and install them for $220 to $680 per window in Pembroke Pines, depending on the series and what actually failed. Most Marvin sash and glass replacements go in the same visit. You’ll know it’s time when the window won’t stay up, condensation sits between the panes, or the lock no longer lines up. South Florida humidity and salt air don’t cause these failures overnight, but once they start, they don’t reverse.

TruePane Windows & Doors is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Marvin, but we’ve been replacing Marvin windows in western Broward County long enough to know which series have which quirks.

Which Marvin Models This Applies To

Marvin makes several lines, and the replacement part you need depends on the series stamp. In Pembroke Pines, the most common Marvin windows we service are the Ultimate (wood interior, aluminum-clad exterior), Elevate (fiberglass exterior, wood interior), and Signature (all-wood, usually older homes). Each series takes different balances, sash stops, and glass packages.

Look for the aluminum spacer between the glass panes. Marvin etches the model and glass date there in tiny print. If you can’t read it, measure the visible glass width and the overall sash height, then call us. A Marvin Ultimate double-hung sash from 2010 is not interchangeable with an Elevate sash from 2019, even if both are 36 inches wide. We stock OEM Marvin components for current-production series and quality aftermarket equivalents for discontinued lines like the old Marvin Windows and Doors tilt-pac retrofits from the 1980s and 90s.

The decision between OEM and aftermarket on a Marvin comes down to what failed. If the glass seal is fogged, an IG unit from a South Florida fabricator with a 10-year seal warranty often matches or outlasts the original. If the jamb liner or tilt latch failed, OEM Marvin hardware is the only thing we’ll put in. We quote both on paper so you see the difference.

Signs Your Marvin Window Replacement Is Failing

  • The sash drops when you raise it. The spiral or block-and-tackle balance has lost tension. On Marvin Ultimates from the mid-2000s, the balance shoe cracks at the pivot and the sash rides rough until it lets go entirely.
  • Haze or water droplets between the panes. The edge seal on the insulated glass unit has failed. In Pembroke Pines, where afternoon humidity pushes 80% for half the year, a failed seal fogs within weeks, not months.
  • The crank or operator spins without moving the sash. On casement and awning Marvins, the gear teeth in the operator strip. This is a $60 to $90 part and about an hour of labor.
  • You can see daylight or feel air along the sash edge. The weatherstripping on the frame has compressed, or the sash has settled out of square. If it’s the latter, the corner keys may be failing.
  • The lock won’t engage or the keeper is bent. Often a sign the sash is out of alignment, not just a worn lock. We square the sash first, then replace hardware.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what Marvin window replacement runs in Pembroke Pines, parts and labor included:

  • Insulated glass unit only (fogged seal, no sash damage): $220 to $390 per window
  • Full sash replacement (glass plus frame, common on Ultimates): $340 to $520 per window
  • Balance or hardware replacement (one window): $160 to $280
  • Full-frame Marvin window replacement (rot or structural issues): $800 to $1,600 per window, plus trim work if needed

The spread comes from glass package. Low-E with argon costs more than clear. Tinted or laminated impact glass costs more than standard annealed. We write the parts cost, the labor, and the warranty terms on one line-item quote before we start. No change orders. If you’ve got a Marvin from the 1990s with a discontinued glass stop profile, we’ll show you the retrofit option and the cost difference before cutting anything.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check the spacer stamp, measure the sash, and note whether the issue is glass fog, hardware, or balance. That information helps us quote accurately over the phone. What we don’t recommend is attempting a Marvin sash replacement yourself. The balances on double-hungs are under spring tension, and the glass units are heavy enough that a slipped grip tears out the frame track or sends the pane into the tile. Marvin’s wood interiors also show every pry mark from a homeowner trying to pop the stops without the right tool.

If you’re in Pembroke Pines and the fog has been spreading for a season, call (863) 208-6105. We’ll tell you over the phone what the likely fix is, then confirm it in person before any work begins.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."

GGene A.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."

RRonald P.
★★★★

"Quote was the price, which after three other bids that grew legs was worth something. Double-hungs went in clean, they hauled the old ones, and the registration paperwork for the warranty came in the mail like they said."

DDorothy K.
★★★★★

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★

"Energy bill was the reason we called. They did not oversell - said the two worst walls of windows would do most of the work and we could stop there. Did those eight with the Low-E glass. August electric bill tells the story."
